Master Sergeant Mark Frandsen serves as a bassist for the Band of the Pacific-Asia as of August 2014.

Joining the Air Force in 2004, Sergeant Frandsen was assigned to the Band of Mid-America at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois and served as bassist in the Shades of Blue jazz ensemble. In 2006, he was assigned to the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band at Sembach Air Base, Germany where he served as Finance Clerk, Operations Representative, and Assistant Director of Operations. In 2012, he was assigned to the Band of the Golden West at Travis Air Force Base in California where he served as a bassist for The Ambassadors jazz ensemble and Mobility rock band.

Originally hailing from Anaheim, California, Master Sergeant Frandsen pursued a Bachelor of Music from Utah State University, Master of Music from Austin Peay State University, and a PhD in Music Theory from Texas Tech University. Prior to joining the Air Force, he served as a bassist with the 101st Airborne Division Band stationed at Ft Campbell, KY.
