MSgt Scott Wise serves as the staff composer/arranger for the Band of the Pacific-Asia as of August 2016.
Originally hailing from the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, Sergeant Wise is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, and holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas as well as the degree of Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. His compositions have been performed across the United States as well as internationally with performances in Central and South America, Japan, Korea, and Mongolia. His civilian professional credits on the horn include performances with the Dayton Philharmonic, Berkeley Symphony, North State Symphony, Stockton Symphony, and Springfield (OH) Symphony Orchestra. MSgt Wise’s teachers include composers Kevin Hanlon, Joel Hoffman, Simon Sargon, Douglas Knehans, Ellen Harrison, Robert Frank, John Gibson, and Michael Fiday and hornists Gregory Hustis, Karl Pituch, Randall Faust, and Bruce Hennis.
