SSgt Daniel Thrower performs on trumpet with the Offutt Brass, an ensemble of the USAF Heartland of America Band, Offutt AFB, Nebraska. In addition to his musical duties, he serves as the Musical Director for Offutt Brass.
A Native of Orem, Utah, Sergeant Thrower graduated High School in 1994 and studied music at Brigham Young University and Arizona State University. Prior to enlisting in the US Air Force, he was on faculty at Brigham Young University, Utah Valley University, and the College of Eastern Utah. Since 2009 he has taught at the University of Texas in San Antonio.
SSgt Thrower’s previous career highlights include playing principal trumpet for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games Closing Ceremony, several international music tours, and directing "The Utah Trumpet Guild." He can be heard on a dozen commercially-released CDs and DVDs and is an internationally award-winning composer.
