Technical Sergeant Thomas Salyers is a Regional Band Craftsman, Trumpet with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB, CA.  Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania his Air Force career began in 2002 with the Band of the USAF Reserve at Robins AFB, Georgia.
Technical Sergeant Salyers studied Classical Trumpet Performance at Carnegie Mellon University and Duquesne University.  His teachers include George Vosburgh, Neal Berntsen, Murray Crewe, James Thompson, and Neal Tidwell. TSgt Salyers has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Pops Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass, the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble, the Three Rivers Brass Quintet, the Macon Symphony, the Georgia Brass Band, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, John Santos, Dayna Stevens, Jason Marsalis, Tom Coster, Kristen Korb, Amy Grant, Aaron Neville, Lee Greenwood, Take Six, Lone Star, CeCe Winans, and Restless Heart. In addition, Sergeant Salyers has been a featured performer on National Public Radio's "Performance Today" and NHK television.
