Airman First Class Donmezer is the Staff Arranger with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West. Originally from Adana, Turkey, his Air Force career began in 2017.
A1C Donmezer is a 2011 graduate of the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, Austria, where he was merit-based scholarship recipient and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance. In 2013, he graduated from Berklee College of Music, where he was a Europa Scholarship recipient and studied Film Scoring and Conducting. In 2015, he received his Master’s degree from Tufts University in Composition where he was a Full Scholarship recipient.
His teachers include Fazil Say, Roland Batik, Alla Cohen, Mahir Cetiz and John McDonald.
He has performed many concerts with symphony orchestras as a soloist and as a part of chamber music formations in prestigious concert halls, including Vienna Musikverein, Is Sanat Concert Hall. In 2016, he performed over 275 concerts as Resident Pianist of Lincoln Center Stage’s Piano Quintet.
His works have been commissioned, recorded and performed by many soloists, award winning chamber ensembles in the U.S. and overseas. His book "Humor, Witz und Überraschung in den Sinfonien von Joseph Haydn” (Humor, Joke and Surprise Elements of Haydn’s Symphonies) was published by Akademiker Verlag.
