Staff Sergeant Craig Flentge serves as a bass trombonist for the USAF Band of the Pacific-Asia as of April, 2014.
Joining the Air Force in 2011, Staff Sergeant Flentge was assigned to USAF Band of Mid-America and served as Assistant Unit Training and Deployment Manager. In 2014, he was assigned to USAF Band of the Pacific-Asia where he serves as Client Systems Administrator and the Musical Director for the Pacific Showcase Jazz Ensemble. While assigned to the USAF Band of the Pacific-Asia, he participated in United States Forces Japan's mission to Australia to help celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Victory in the Pacific and to render honor to those veterans who were involved in the Pacific Theater of WWII.
Originally hailing from Brenham, Texas, Staff Sergeant Flentge pursued Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Music Performance from The University of North Texas. Sergeant Flentge has been the recipient of many musical awards including winning the 2010 ITA Donald Yaxley Solo Bass Trombone Competition. Sergeant Flentge’s former teachers include John McCroskey, formerly of the Houston Symphony, Tony Baker, Vern Kagarice and Jan Kagarice.
