Master Sergeant Bennett Weidemann, First Sergeant

Master Sergeant Bennett Weidemann, a native of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, is a percussionist with the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band. He also serves as the Unit Additional Duty First Sergeant.

MSgt Weidemann earned an Associate's degree in Applied Science, Music from the Community College of the Air Force in 2006, and attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas from 1998 to 2001.  He also has studied with Mike Johnston (Drummer/Clinician), Steve Houghton (Drummer/Music Educator), John "Muzz" Muzzy (Rock Drummer for "Fahrenheit"/Clinician), Doug DeMorrow (DeMorrow Instruments), Dr. Francis McBeth (Composer and Conductor), and Eugene Corporon (North Texas Wind Ensemble).

MSgt Weidemann deployed to southwest Asia in 2004, 2008, 2015, and 2017. He has performed for Secretary of the Air Force 21 and 22, and the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.  He has performed with Emmy Award Winning late night personality, Conan O'Brien, GRAMMY nominated singer/songwriter, Grace Potter, and guitarist/Basic Cable Band music director, Jimmy Vivino.  In 2006, he was part of an elite ceremonial ensemble for the funeral of the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford. In addition to his band duties, Sergeant Weidemann was a member of the Hanscom Air Force Base Patriot Honor Guard, and was accepted to the United States Air Force Honor Guard before receiving orders to Joint Base Langley-Eustis.
