The Army Air Corps song was introduced and received its premier in-door performance by Robert Crawford at the Inaugural Ball, National Air Races, Cleveland, Ohio. Brigadier General Barton K. Yount (center) was the key speaker for the gala dinner on November 2, 1939, at which time a check for $1,000 was presented to Robert Crawford (left) by Mr. McFadden (right), sponsor of the contest.
