As the sun sank Monday evening the sounds of vocalist Technical Sgt. Paige Martin and the Air Force's Airmen of Note could be heard drifting across the horizon. Over 100 people from March Air Reserve Base and the around the community, including Brigadier Gen. James Melin, 452nd Air Mobility Wing commander, gathered on the lawn of the March Field Air Museum in Moreno Valley, Calif., for the sunset performance. The opening song, "No I don't fly planes," composed by one of the band's members, started off the evenings show with a little humor and a lot of talent. Airmen of Note, the Air Force's premier jazz ensemble which began in the '70s, came to the museum to put on a free concert as part of the Air Force's 60th Anniversary. The previous day they had performed at nearby Disneyland. Some of the many songs included "Search For Peace," which incorporated a trombone solo by Master Sgt. Benjamin Patterson and "I Love Being Here," sung by Technical Sgt. Martin.
