The Falconaires jazz big band works with students from Hinkley High School from Aurora, Colorado. Students spent the morning learning about musical stylings from, and playing next to, the full-time professional bandsmen from the United States Air Force Academy Band. They also learned about careers and educational opportunities available in the Air Force, and were able to see firsthand the core value of excellence being portrayed by the members of the Falconaires.

The Falconaires jazz big band works with students from Hinkley High School from Aurora, Colorado. Students spent the morning learning about musical stylings from, and playing next to, the full-time professional bandsmen from the United States Air Force Academy Band. They also learned about careers and educational opportunities available in the Air Force, and were able to see firsthand the core value of excellence being portrayed by the members of the Falconaires.

The USAF Academy Band’s Educational Outreach program featured high school students performing the “Air Force Musicians Association March” by Air Force Academy Band retired percussionist Bill Barbier. Performing with the band from the Buena High School Band under the direction of Dwayne Chun were Rachel Clemmer on trumpet, Nick Stokes on tuba, Caleb Westby on alto saxophone, Charles Murray on tenor saxophone and Tori Jurik on bass clarinet. Appearing with the Academy Band from the Marana High School Band under the direction of James Attebury was Devon Katzel on bass clarinet as well.

Selected to play the Air Force Musicians Association March” were Brian Kellermeyer on horn, Tiffany Guillen on flute and Lanisa Dietrich on clarinet from the Anza Trail Middle School Band under the direction of Lou Rodriguez. From the Suhuarita Middle School Band under the direction of Erin Blass were Gabriella Mantica on clarinet and Stefany Paredes on trombone.

From the Nogales High School Band under the direction of James Cochran were student performers Manuel Armenta-Batt on baritone saxophone, German Larios on trumpet and Alan Ramirez, Nicholas Clark and Tim Medina all on trombone.
