Concert Band and Singing Sergeants take to the road

Washington, D.C. -- It's October, and once again it's tour time for the Concert Band and Singing Sergeants. This Fall's 11-day tour will feature 10 performances throughout Alabama, Georgia and Florida. In addition to the performances listed below, members of the Concert Band and Singers will conduct educational outreach clinics and masterclasses as part of the Band's "AIM" initiative, Advancing Innovation through Music. These outreach events occur at the collegiate and high school level and are designed to advance educational goals through tailor-made clinics and performances.

During the public concerts, it is not uncommon to have local students sit within the ensemble to perform with the band and chorus on a featured selection. Also, guest conductors are featured on nearly every concert, usually from the sponsoring educational institution. This type of interaction helps to foster a sense of community and inclusion and supports our efforts to build partnerships with the surrounding communities.

The Concert Band and Singing Sergeants will perform traditional symphonic band and choral music, classic marches, patriotic selections, and feature both instrumental and vocal soloists. The national colors will be presented a Color Guard from the premier Honor Guard of the United States Air Force. This is the same unit that serves at Arlington National Cemetery and honors America at many other important functions throughout the Washington, D.C. area.
