The Note to perform in Chicago

The annual Midwest Clinic for band and orchestra in Chicago is fast approaching, and the Airmen of Note are going to be "in the house"!  We are honored to be a part of this prestigious event and relish the opportunity to represent the Air Force before thousands of our country's top educators and professionals.  The Note's Midwest concert will take place at the McCormick Place convention center on Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The group will also be featured at a music reading session at the convention on Dec. 19.

Master Sgt. Tyler Kuebler, the band's music director, has created a blockbuster program for the occasion with a cornucopia of charts destined to heat up the "Windy City" this winter! A few highlights among the many inspired works that we will perform include:  a very inventive treatment of Charlie Parker's bebop mainstay, "Ah-Leu-Cha" by New York City trumpeter and arranger Philip Mossman; an original composition from our good friend and master writer Paul White, entitled "Cast The Net"; as well as a bevy of dynamic entries by our very own Master Sgt. Ben Patterson that are sure to delight and provide sonic intrigue for our fans.

Additionally, the Note will perform the original work, "Every Possible History of the Universe" by Sean Nelson, the winner of the 2014 National Band Association's Young Composers Jazz Composition.  While in Chicago, the Note will also be featured on WGN TV, playing holiday favorites on Thursday, Dec. 18 between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. This is an encore performance as the band was featured on this station on July 4 celebrating Independence Day.
