The United States Air Force Band's popular Chamber Concert Series has begun! This series offers audiences in the national capital region the opportunity to enjoy performances by individual musicians and small groups from The U.S. Air Force Band. There will be programs in March and April, featuring members of the Singing Sergeants, Ceremonial Brass, Concert Band and Air Force Strings. Three terrific local venues will be used for these concerts: The Lyceum: Alexandria's History Museum in Alexandria, Virginia, and the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington and Montgomery College both in Rockville, Maryland. All performances in the series are free and open to the public, with no tickets required.

The Lyceum will host the majority of the Band's chamber concerts this spring. Unfortunately, the first concert at this location was cancelled due to inclement weather. So, get in the St. Patrick's Day spirit with Celtic Aire on Thursday, March 12, as they charm the audience with an Irish Celebration! On March 19, The U.S. Air Force Brass Quintet is sure to thrill with traditional and contemporary selections. Enjoy music and transcriptions written for the Woodwind Quintet and Chamber Trio on March 26. The Air Force Strings will impress and entertain on April 2, as they present new works for string ensemble. On April 9, join Technical Sgt. Matthew Shipes for a recital featuring works for solo euphonium, and don't miss the Felsen Trio on April 16, as they present beautiful music for soprano, clarinet and piano. The Lyceum is located at 201 South Washington Street in Alexandria, Virginia; all performances begin at 8 p.m.

Experience inspiring performances at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater Washington, beginning on Wednesday, March 11, with The U.S. Air Force String Quartet. The recital on March 18, will feature members of the Airmen of Note performing both new and classic repertoire for jazz trio, led by Technical Sgt. David McDonald. Hear works by Strauss, Stravinsky and others performed on March 25 by our Chamber Wind Ensemble under the direction of Capt. Joseph Hansen. The JCC of Greater Washington is located at 6125 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland. All performances begin at 8 p.m.

The series returns to Montgomery College on April 8. Come see the most tuneful example of inter-service cooperation when the joint service Clarinet Ensemble performs with the Band's own Technical Sgt. Ani Berberian! Montgomery College is located at 51 Mannakee Street in Rockville, Maryland. This performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
