Celtic Jukebox Published July 6, 2015 By Senior Master Sgt. Dennis Hoffmann Washington, D.C. -- Since the group was formed in 2007, The United States Air Force Band's Celtic Aire has been a favorite of concert-goers and Air Force leadership. Their blend of traditional Irish favorites, original compositions, American folk, and pop covers has helped endear the group to hundreds of loyal fans. This summer, Celtic Aire is asking those fans to engage with the group through social media and take part in their innovative "Celtic Jukebox" concerts, where the audience will choose what the band performs! Here's how it will work: Go to Celtic Aire's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CelticAire) and check out a list of 50 of their favorite songs. From "O Danny Boy" and "Cockles and Mussels" to "All the Single Ladies," all of the band's most popular songs are there. During their Celtic Jukebox shows, they will only perform what the audience requests to hear! It's a unique opportunity to hear your favorite Celtic band and help program the concert as it happens. If you don't happen to be a Facebook user, don't worry. Song lists will be provided at the concerts, and audience members can engage with one of the guest "hosts" to make their requests in person. The Celtic Jukebox concerts featuring Celtic Aire will be performed at the United States Air Force Memorial on Friday, July 24, and again on the West Terrace of the United States Capitol on Tuesday, July 28. Both concerts begin at 8 p.m. and admission is free. Outdoor concerts are subject to weather cancellation; check our Facebook and Twitter feeds for the latest information.
