Band of Mid America goes digital with music distribution via CD Baby

10/12/2012 --  10/12/2012 - SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. -- In a world where good old fashioned compact discs are beginning to take a back seat, digital distribution is leading the way when fans look for music. This led the Band of Mid-America to create an opportunity to continue to provide recorded music to military and civilian communities, but now in digital form.

The self-titled album "Hot Brass" features a ten-piece group that utilizes a brass quintet, drummer, guitarist and vocalists to feature a tasty musical gumbo pleasing to all who indulge. The group was originally created to fulfill the needs and strategic requirements for a deployment in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Upon their reintegration to the Band of Mid-America, the group's success was so overwhelming that they continued to function as one of the bands most unique ensembles.

On the heels of their deployment, "Hot Brass" recorded their 13-track album. The popularity of the bands catchy playlist has exhausted the Band of Mid-America's supply of physical CD's which prompted the band to seek out an online music distribution opportunity.

"Linking up with CD Baby was an important step for us," says Technical Sergeant Scott Sauer, music productions NCO for the Band of Mid-America. "It allows us to remain relevant in the technology world, as well as reach a larger audience base as we represent the Air Force through musical excellence."

CD Baby is one of the most reputable online music stores which provides an avenue for bands who want to get their music out to the public but have no means of getting their music into stores. While many bands featured on CD Baby's website profit from their downloads, the "Hot-Brass" disc is free of charge.
