Educational Outreach embraces Beacon

Beacon, NY --  The Academy Band performed to a standing room only audience Saturday, October 11 at Beacon High School, Beacon, NY. Prior to the performance we were treated to a wonderful reception hosted by Ms. Kim Atwell and Ms. Pat Deleo of the Beacon Teacher's Association. Once again, the band was joined on stage by students from the local area--from Beacon High School; Erin Moseman, Alyssa Schmidt and Joe Borello-- from Marlboro High School; Danielle Ludwigson and from Rombout Middle School; Paige Rutkoske. These students were chosen to perform by their band directors Mr. Stephen Pietrowski, Ms. Sue Lichtenberg and Mr. Mark Rubenstein. Beacon students and staff did everything from ushering to running spotlights and special effects. We offer our deepest gratitude to the community of Beacon and to more than 1000 people who spent the evening with us. We also offer our apologies to the 40 people who were not able to get in to the performance. We will continue to perform in New England the next few days, with tomorrow's performance being in New Haven, CT.
