Przyzycki The USAF Academy Band Colorado Springs, CO -- Your United States Air Force Academy Band's world class jazz ensemble The Falconaires is bringing some swing to Colorado's frontrange, appearing as guest artists at the Mile High Jazz Festival at Arvada's Ralston Valley High School and at two school performances in Colorado Springs. This year's Mile High Jazz Festival will take place February 3-5, 2010 at Ralston Valley High School in Arvada, Colorado. The Falconaires are headlining the event and will be performing each afternoon from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The band will also present several clinics for students. They will perform a diverse program that will capitalize on new cutting edge music as well as traditional big band favorites. All performances are free and open to the public. Tour Manager, Technical Sergeant Jason Crowe said, "We are looking forward to playing at the festival. It is always great to create and strengthen our relationships with all of the Colorado high school jazz bands that perform here ... it is especially important for the U.S. Air Force Academy's education outreach mission." Band Leader, Master Sergeant Scott Crump said, "It is great to play some jazz right here in our backyard and for an audience comprised of some of the most dedicated educators and students in the country." On January 28, 2010, The Falconaires will also perform for an assembly at Colorado Spring's James Irwin School. Later in the year on May 5, 2010, they will perform at Jenkins Middle School, also in Colorado Springs, at the Jenkins Jazz Jamboree which will feature a public concert that night at 7:00 p.m. This event will be free and open to the public. Audiences can expect to hear great jazz in a world-class setting that exemplifies the excellence that can be found throughout your United States Air Force.
