Kentucky was the target and Wild Blue Country was the Air Force Academy Bands' weapon of choice. Wild Blue Country performed in many different venues to reach their target including TV, Radio, live concerts and sporting events. "Our mission was to inform young people, their parents, local community and state leaders of the tremendous opportunities there are at the United States Air Force Academy", said MSgt Oddo the Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge of Wild Blue Country. He continued, "Most people don't know about this opportunity or even how to get information, let alone how to apply for possible selection to the AFA. Through entertainment and strategically designed messages we present our audience with facts about the Academy and why they might see this as a great option for the young people in their lives." The Academy band works with local Air Force Liaison Offices and recruiters to have on-sight information and guidance for "potential cadets" so they leave the concerts with a greater knowledge about the world-class educational opportunities there are at the Air Force Academy.

"The people of Kentucky were great and we enjoyed meeting everyone we could at all of our appearances", said TSgt Tim Stombaugh. Our mission was a success as we spread the word about the amazing opportunities at the Air Force Academy and in our great United States Air Force.
