So far, The United States Air Force Band's Guest Artist Series has been a resounding success. Over 3,000 people attended the two performances at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. These concerts featured two icons in popular music: country music legend Charley Pride and the "First Lady of contemporary jazz," Keiko Matsui. Also on the program was clarinetist Katherine Kohler, winner of the 2009 Colonel George S. Howard Young Artist Competition.

The performances also featured The Concert Band, Singing Sergeants, Symphony Orchestra, and Max Impact.

The final performance of the series in 2009 will take place at The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Md., on June 17. This concert will be a coordinated effort with Maryland Public Television to create a special musical tribute to America's veterans. Now in its third consecutive year, America's Veterans: A Musical Tribute will feature world-renowned guest artists and will be taped for future broadcast on public television stations nationwide. Plans are still underway for this event--this year's lineup of guest artists will be announced at a later date. Previous guest artists include Patti LaBelle, Clint Black, and Empire Brass. Here are the details:
