The United States Air Force Band invites you and your family to make this a summer to remember by joining us for the 2010 Summer Concert Series. Featuring the Air Force Strings, Airmen of Note, Concert Band, Max Impact and Singing Sergeants, the Series takes place at landmarks such as the Air Force Memorial and the west steps of the U.S. Capitol Building. All performances are at 8 pm and are free of charge; no tickets required.

The Series kicks off with a concert celebrating 60 years of the Airmen of Note at the Air Force Memorial on Friday, June 4. The "Note" will feature the music of the major eras of the band at each of its eight Summer Concert Series performances, culminating with a gala 60th anniversary concert/alumni reunion at George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium on Friday, September 3. Join us all summer long as you embark on a journey through "Note" history, beginning with the music of the 1950s Fred Kepner/Sammy Nestico bands on June 4.

Tuesday, June 8 marks the first of six Max Impact performances for the 2010 Summer Concert Series with a performance at the west steps of the U.S. Capitol. Featuring music from classic rock all the way to the popular hits of today, you won't want to miss an explosive note of this amazing band. Just in time for the Summer Concert Series, Max Impact has prepared a special tribute to the king of pop, the late, great Michael Jackson for your listening enjoyment. Come and rock out to the sounds of the hardest-working band in the Air Force - you won't be disappointed!

Wednesday, June 9 at the Air Force Memorial marks the first of ten Summer Concert Series performances featuring The US Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants. Bringing the sounds of classical, wind band and popular music to the Air Force Memorial and Capitol Steps, the Concert Band and Singing Sergeants are sure to dazzle with virtuosic soloists and powerful ensemble. On Friday, June 18, the Concert Band teams up with the Los Angeles Police Department Band for a combined performance that is not to be missed. And on August 7, The Singing Sergeants celebrate their rich musical heritage with a performance featuring many of the distinguished alumni of the group.

On Wednesday, June 16, the Air Force Strings will perform the first of eight Summer Series concerts at the Air Force Memorial. Always an audience favorite, the Strings add a joyful and elegant dynamic to the Summer Concert Series, performing music of classical, international and popular styles. The Series gives individual members an opportunity to shine as well, such as virtuoso violist Technical Sergeant Tyler M. Sieh, who will be featured as a soloist during the Series.

Whether your tastes are rock, jazz, classical or the patriotic sounds of the American wind band, we hope you will join us for some beautiful music at our nation's most gorgeous monuments. You can find the complete calendar at www.USAFBand.af.mil. So bring a blanket or lawn chair - and a friend! - and help us create some memorable evenings under the stars at the 2010 Summer Concert Series.
