On Saturday, July 3, and Sunday, July 4, the Airmen of Note will perform at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Each concert, featuring hits from the 1940s as well as modern jazz favorites, will begin at 1 p.m. The performances are free and open to the public; no tickets are required. The event will celebrate the opening of Telling Stories: Norman Rockwell from the Collections of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

Telling Stories is the first major exhibition to explore the connections between Rockwell's iconic images of American life and the movies. There will be more than fifty Rockwell paintings and drawings from these private collections that are rarely seen by the public. There will also be excerpts from interviews with Lucas and Spielberg discussing Rockwell. The works from their collections will be shown in the galleries.

The American Art Museum is located at 8th and F Streets, NW, and is accessible via Metro's Red, Yellow and Green lines at the Gallery Place/Chinatown station.
