Recollections - September 2010 Photos Revealed
BOLLING AFB, D.C. --
August's "Recollections" featured a photograph from the Airmen of Note archives. Many alumni of this distinguished group recently gathered with the current members to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its inception. It was a wonderful weekend that included a broadcast recording and concert at Lisner Auditorium, a jam session in Gabriel Hall and a banquet dinner at the Bolling Club. We are thankful to have received the following information on photograph #36 from two Airmen of Note alumni:
My recollection: Bias studios, I'm guessing 1996 for the CD titled "Legacy."
Myself, Joe Eckert, Mike Crotty and engineer Bob Dawson are in the picture.
Assuming that is the occasion, this was a unique recording as it celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the USAF. We brought back some alumni to perform with us along with a special guest, Joe Williams.
The Airmen of Note alumni (from that session): the first AON director, Fred Kepner, Tommy Newsom, Dave Steinmeyer, Rick Lillard, Jim Lay, Rick Whitehead, Lee Lachman, Tim Eyermann, Doug Gately, Vaughn Nark and Juanita Williams.
Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) Pete BarenBregge, USAF
This photo was taken at Bias Studios sometime in 1995 or 1996 during the Airmen of Note's "Legacy" and "Blues and Beyond" recording sessions. Pictured are CMSgt (ret) Pete BarenBregge, CMSgt (ret) Joe Eckert, SMSgt (ret) Mike Crotty and Bias Studios owner and chief recording engineer Bob Dawson. We spent many hours in that position mixing Airmen of Note recordings!
