This November, fresh off the heels of the 2010 Jazz Heritage Series, the Airmen of Note will embark on a 15-day tour through the states of Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania. Created in 1950 to carry on the tradition of Major Glenn Miller's Army Air Corps dance band, today the "Note" features 18 of the most talented jazz musicians in the country and is one of the last touring big bands. As a result, it has earned an international reputation as one of the finest and most versatile big bands of its kind in the world. The tour will take place November 9 through November 23.

The big band will start their tour in our smallest state, Rhode Island, with a stop in West Warwick. The Note will then move on to Woburn and Springfield in Massachusetts.

The majority of the tour will be spent in New York, with the band playing in Hudson, Rome, Syracuse, Buffalo, Geneva, Ithaca and Binghamton.

The Note will close out the fall 2010 tour with performances in Harrisburg and Lancaster, Penn.

Several members--including Tech. Sgts. Grant Langford and Paige Martin, as well as Master Sgt. Doug Morgan and Senior Master Sgt. Tim Leahey--grew up performing in the northeast, so this tour will prove to be an exciting homecoming for them!
