The United States Air Force Band's Brass Quintet will perform during a holiday concert at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Va., on Sunday, December 12, 2010. This concert begins at 3 p.m. in the school's auditorium and features Bishop Ireton's music ensembles, as well as the Seika Girls High School Wind Ensemble from Fukuoka City, Japan.

The Brass Quintet will be featured performers on a newly-commissioned piece during the concert. This ensemble includes instrumentalists who primarily perform with The United States Air Force Concert Band. Senior Master Sgt. Andrew Wilson, who plans to retire from military service this coming spring, is the quintet's noncommissioned officer in charge and plays principal trumpet.

The other members of the group are Tech. Sgt. Christian Pagnard (second trumpet), Tech. Sgt. Joel Wealer (French horn), Chief Master Sgt. Ann Hinote (euphonium) and Master Sgt. Brian Sands (tuba).

Locally, the Brass Quintet performs several times each year on the Band's Chamber Players Series, as well as for military functions in and around Washington, D.C.

Throughout the years, Bishop Ireton High School has graciously welcomed numerous Air Force Band ensembles to perform on campus. Our partnership has remained strong thanks in part to Bishop Ireton's band director, Air Force Band alumnus retired Chief Master Sgt. Randy Eyles.

This concert is free and open to the public.
