The United States Air Force Band's 2011 Guest Artist Series continues into March, with a special program featuring country music's Lonestar and saxophonist Jordan Lulloff--winner of the 2011 Colonel George S. Howard Young Artist Competition. The free, non-ticketed performance will take place on March 6 at 3 p.m. at Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C.

The Band is proud to once again share the stage with country rockers Lonestar. In 2010, Lonestar appeared on the public television program "America's Veterans: A Musical Tribute" with The U.S. Air Force Band, honoring all former servicemembers who have defended our great nation.

Lonestar's biggest hit was 1999's "Amazed," a crossover hit that topped both the country and pop charts, becoming the first single to do so in 16 years. They have recorded eight studio albums and a Greatest Hits compilation. Three of their albums have been certified gold, while three more have been certified platinum or higher.

Lonestar recently participated in former President Ronald W. Reagan's centennial celebration in "A Concert for America--A Tribute to Ronald Reagan."

This performance will also feature saxophonist Jordan Lulloff--the winner of the 2011 Colonel George S. Howard Young Artist Competition. Lulloff, a senior at Okemos High School in Okemos, Mich., competed with four other finalists from across the nation in a recital on Jan. 27, 2011, at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling.

Originating in 1994, the Colonel George S. Howard Young Artist Competition is an annual contest, and is named for the second commander and conductor of the Air Force Band to honor his many contributions to young musicians.

Guest Artist Series concerts take place at DAR Constitution Hall, 18th and D Streets, N.W., Washington, D.C. Performances begin at 3 p.m. and are free and open to the public; no tickets needed. Doors open at 2 p.m. For details about these and other U.S. Air Force Band performances, please call our 24-hour concert line at 202-767-5658 or visit our website.
