One of the great things about the Washington, D.C. area is all the wonderful museums that are here to visit and enjoy. Members of The United States Air Force Band are making the trip to the Smithsonian's National Air and Space museum even more memorable by performing concerts throughout the summer.

On June 6, members of the Singing Sergeants serenaded tourists and locals alike. The Air Force Strings inspired the masses on June 13, while the Airmen of Note entertained the museum's visitors with some wonderful jazz on June 27. Max Impact celebrated Independence Day before a large and enthusiastic crowd. On July 11, members of the Concert Band performed chamber music ranging from a clarinet quartet to a clarinet choir, and a brass quintet to a brass choir and everything in between!

There are two more opportunities this summer to catch performances by the Band's Airmen musicians at the Air and Space museum. On July 18, the theme for the performance is "Serenade for Strings." This concert will feature the Strolling Strings and the Air Force Strings, including a performance of Tchaikovsky's titanic "Serenade for Strings."

On July 25, Celtic Aire, a small ensemble from the Singing Sergeants, will perform. This group performs great classic Irish melodies with a refreshing new flavor. From foot-stomping tunes and energetic instrumental reel sets to heart-warming ballads, these professional vocalists accompany themselves on traditional Celtic instruments. They also add Celtic-flavor to some of your favorite songs, both old and new.

Come enjoy one of the best museums in the city and a performance by some of the best musicians in the world!
