The second concert of The United States Air Force Band's 2013 Guest Artist Series was a rousing success with stellar performances by the Rogues and members of the Concert Band, Singing Sergeants, Air Force Strings, Celtic Aire and Sr. Amn. Adam Tianello from the Band of the Air Force Reserve and conductor, Maj. Scott Guidry. The concert was hosted by the chief scientist of the United States Air Force, Dr. Mark Maybury.

The concert opened with a flawless presentation of the national colors by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. The Concert Band got the crowd into the Celtic spirit with "Irish Washerwoman" and "The Girl I Left Behind." The Concert Band's percussion section was featured next on the energetic Gaelic song "Solas Ane."

The Singing Sergeants then took center stage to perform a hauntingly beautiful arrangement of "Danny Boy," featuring one of the newest members of the chorus, Tech. Sgt. Daniel Anderson. This portion of the concert ended with selections from "Riverdance."

During the stage change, members of the Band's Celtic Aire--Master Sgt. Eric Sullivan and Techs Sgts. Joe Haughton, Julia Brundage and Emily Wellington--entertained the throngs. On select tunes, they were joined by Senior Master Sgt. Deb Volker on violin, Master Sgt. Frank Busso on accordion and Tech. Sgt. Megan Neal on flute. Their set was the perfect warm-up for the upcoming featured guest artists.

During the final portion of the concert, the Rogues amazed the crowd with their range and energy. They began with "Pressed for Time" which also featured some local Irish dancers. "The Gael" and "Bonny Portmore" was performed next. Celtic Aire joined the Rogues for a spirited version of "Panda."

Strong supporters of our nation's military, the Rogues have raised thousands of dollars for individual veterans, the U.S. Air Force Aid Society and Operation Ward 57, the amputee ward at Walter Reed National Medical Center. They have performed for service members in Guantanamo Bay, Japan and Guam, and they regularly volunteer to perform for WWII Vets at Honor Flight arrivals in Washington, D.C.

On this concert, they paid tribute to fallen service members with "Warrior's Salute." Air Force Band of the Reserve bagpiper, Sr. Amn. Adam Tianello, then took the stage to perform with the Rogues on "Scotland the Brave" and "Amazing Grace." The final selection "Itchy Fingers" featured the Rogues, the Air Force Orchestra and members of the Boyle School of Irish Dance from Burke,Va.
