The United States Air Force Band is proud to announce the release of three new recordings, featuring the Concert Band and the Airmen of Note. Here's a short description of all the releases, and a preview of what you'll find on each:

Journeys
Taking the listener on a trip from the "Broad Earth" to the vastness of space, Journeys is the latest offering from the United States Air Force Band's Concert Band. Featuring works by Ticheli, Giroux, and Hindemith, and including three movements from "American Journey" by former Airman John Williams, Journeys is full of amazing music from lauded composers, delivered with nuance and skill by the world-class musicians of the USAF Band.

The Gabriel Years 1964-1985 (2-disc set)
The USAF Band celebrates their Conductor Emeritus, Colonel Arnald D. Gabriel, with this set of classic archive recordings, re-mastered and re-released on this two-disc set. After exemplary service in World War Two, Gabriel joined the Air Force as a conductor, and in his 21-year tenure at Bolling AFB cemented the legacy of The United States Air Force Band as "America's International Musical Ambassadors." This collection gathers some of his best-loved and best-remembered programming choices, and includes numerous live recordings and guest stars such as William Conrad, Doc Severinson and Shirley Temple Black.

Airmen of Note
The Airmen of Note highlight some of their past "airmen of note", and feature member arrangers Sammy Nestico, Alan Baylock, Gil Cray, and Mike Crotty on their latest musical offering. The album includes arrangements of classics such as "Cherokee" and "That Old Black Magic" by the distinguished alumni, along with the originals "Be-Bop Lives (Boplicity)" by Nestico and "This is the Airmen of Note!" by Baylock.

These three new recordings, along with the entire electronic catalog of the United States Air Force Band, is available for streaming and free download on our website. Just navigate to http://www.usafband.af.mil/recordings/catalog/index.asp and follow the directions on the page. Happy listening!
