Airman First Class Israel Yanez is a proud Texas native. Raised in the Rio Grande Valley, he grew up immersed in Mexican American culture and the diverse musical traditions it inspires. With the unwavering support of his family, his passion for music continued to grow, ultimately leading him to earn a bachelor’s degree in jazz performance from Texas State University in 2022.
In 2025, Airman Yanez enlisted in the United States Air Force and received his first assignment with the Band of the West. He is honored to begin his Air Force career in his home state and looks forward to the opportunities, challenges, and experiences that lie ahead on this new path.
