Airman First Class Luis Clebsch is currently a member of the trumpet section in the United States Air Force Band of the West in San Antonio, Texas. He previously performed as Second Trumpet and Acting Principal Trumpet with the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra. He has performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Syracuse Orchestra, and Dallas Winds. He has also been a featured soloist with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the USAF Band of the West.
Clebsch received his Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying under Michael Sachs and Michael Miller. He also studied at Southern Methodist University with Ryan Anthony, Thomas Booth, Kevin Finamore, and Stuart Stephenson.
In 2022, Clebsch received the Bernard Adelstein Award in Trumpet from the Cleveland Institute of Music and in 2019 attended the Chautauqua Music School Festival Orchestra.
Clebsch also has a passion for music education and has held teaching positions at the Cleveland Orchestra, Shaker Heights High School, and the Guilderland Music Academy. Additionally, he was a substitute mentor for the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and has taught masterclasses at multiple universities.
