A1C Gabriel Ottomanelli has been with the Air Force Band of the West since fall of 2024. Prior to service, Gabriel attended Valencia College in Orlando, FL, where he earned an A.S. in Sound Production, an A.S. in Music Production, and numerous professional technical certifications by the time he graduated in May of 2023. Gabriel’s experience as a sound engineer has led to all sorts of unique and varied opportunities before joining Band of the West, including work on podcasts, audiobooks, films, video games, and live performances, as well as recording, producing, mixing, and mastering several records for musical artists. A1C Ottomanelli has worked with many artists across a wide variety of genres before joining the Air Force, including notable acts such as Yellowcard, Goodmorning Bedlam, SWIMM, and the ten-time Grammy award winning acapella group Take 6, to name a few. A1C Ottomanelli’s prior experience has also led him to do sound at events for Atlantic Records, work on an Emmy award winning documentary, and be the FOH Production Manager at a mid-sized regional concert venue. Additionally, Gabriel has enjoyed being a frequently gigging musician with local and touring rock, indie, metal, and country bands, before beginning USAF service. Gabriel’s music skill allowed him to actively be involved in six touring bands simultaneously at one point, and to pass on his knowledge as a music instructor at the prestigious, and veteran owned, Wickham Road Music Academy in Melbourne, FL. As a new audio engineer with the Band of the West, A1C Gabriel Ottomanelli is honored to now utilize his technical skill and variety of experience to serve the world’s greatest Air Force.
