Airman First Class Evan Sacks-Wilner plays tuba in the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. In addition to performing in Offutt Brass, he also serves as a publicity clerk.
A native of Princeton, NJ, A1C Sacks-Wilner has performed with the Queen City Chamber Orchestra, Ukiah Symphony, the Windhaven Festival Band, and the International Tuba-Euphonium Conference (ITEC) All-Star Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble, among many others. His competition experience includes winning First Prize in the Mock Orchestra Audition and Second Prize in the Student Solo Competition at the Midwest Regional Tuba-Euphonium Conference and was a semifinalist in the Leonard Falcone International Solo Competition and the Artist Solo Competition at the ITEC.
A1C Sacks-Wilner earned an Artist Diploma from the University of Miami Frost School of Music, a Master of Music from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, all in Tuba Performance. His primary teachers include Derek Fenstermacher, Timothy Northcut, Chris Olka, Charles Villarrubia, and Aaron Tindall.
In his spare time, A1C Sacks-Wilner enjoys practicing Muay Thai, playing board games, hiking in National Parks, and a solid game of table tennis.
