Technical Sgt. Amy Houck is the principal oboist of the Concert Band. Originally from Katy, Texas, she joined The United States Air Force Band in 2025.
Before joining the Air Force, Sgt. Houck served for seven years with The United States Army Field Band. She can be heard on their Grammy-winning album, Soundtrack of the American Soldier. Additionally, she has performed as a substitute oboist and English hornist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, among others. During the summer months, she was a fellow at Music Academy of the West and the Banff Centre Festival Orchestra.
Sgt. Houck received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Master of Music degree from DePaul University. Her primary teachers include Eugene Izotov, Richard Killmer, and Anne Leek.
