Technical Sgt. Joshua Huang is a violinist with the Air Force Strings. Originally from Medina, Ohio, he joined The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, Washington, D.C in 2024.
Sgt. Huang earned his bachelor’s through the Dual Degree Program at the University of Rochester and Eastman School of Music, with degrees in Biology and Violin Performance with Oleh Krysa. He completed his Master of Music and Advanced Music Studies degree in Violin Performance at Carnegie Mellon University under Cyrus Forough and Christopher Wu.
Prior to joining the Air Force, Sgt. Huang was Associate Concertmaster of the Erie Philharmonic, Principal 2nd violin of the Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra, and Assistant Principal 2nd violin of the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra. He has performed at a variety of music festivals including the National Repertory Orchestra, Schleswig–Holstein Musik Festival, and Tanglewood Music Center.
