Airman First Class Kara Suckling is a horn player with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, based at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. She currently performs with both the Concert Band and the Ceremonial Band.
Originally from Katy, Texas, A1C Suckling is a 2018 graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester where she earned both a Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance and a Bachelor of Arts in Business. She went on to receive her Master of Music in Horn Performance from Northwestern University in 2020. Her principal teachers include Gail Williams, Peter Kurau, Jonathan Boen, and James Wilson.
Prior to her service in the Air Force, A1C Suckling performed with ensembles such as the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and Symphoria.
