A1C Matthew Suckling is a trumpet player in the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. As a member of the Band of Mid-America, he performs in the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, and Airlifter Brass.
A1C Suckling joined the Air Force in January 2025. After completing basic training in March 2025, he was stationed at Scott AFB. Before joining the Air Force, A1C Suckling received a Bachelor of Music and Performer’s Certificate in trumpet performance from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and went on to receive a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford in Connecticut. A1C Suckling’s teachers include Dr. John Charles Thomas, Douglas Prosser, James Thompson, and Phil Snedecor.
