Airman 1st Class Lawrence Laureano

Airman First Class Lawrence Laureano is a vocalist with the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, stationed at Offutt AFB, NE. In addition to his musical duties, he serves as a publicity clerk.

Prior to enlisting in the USAF, A1C Laureano studied with Lt. Col. (ret.) Craig Jessop, the former conductor of the Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.  Jessop also served as the director of the Strategic Air Command Band at Offutt AFB, from 1991-1995.  Serving at Offutt with the Heartland Band of America is special to A1C Laureano because of this connection with his beloved mentor.

During his time at Utah State University, A1C Laureano worked with the American Festival Chorus, Utah State Chamber Singers, University Chorale, Treble Choir, as a director and a collaborative pianist.  While a student in the master’s degree program, he was able to premiere several new works, and his performances received standing ovations from a sold-out audience.

During his time in Hawaii, he was a sought-after vocalist and musician, performing with many diverse ensembles, representing a wide range of styles and genres. Another area of interest for A1C Laureano has been in Broadway musical direction where he has worked as vocal coach, choreographer, performer, and musical director in Hawaii and Utah.  Recent shows that he has worked on include Solana, Gingerbread, West Side Story, Freaky Friday, 9-5, and Lyric Theatre spotlight concerts.  While a student, he directed the BYU-Hawaii University Chorale for three years. He was the founding director of Our Voice, a vocal ensemble that performed for a wide range of audiences all over the island of O'ahu.

A1C Laureano earned a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from Utah State University and a Bachelor of Music Degree in both vocal and piano performance from Brigham Young University Hawaii

In addition to his musical activities, A1C Laureano enjoys time with nature and is passionate about reading literature related to self-discovery and inner healing, which in turn influence his musical compositions and expression.
