Airman First Class (A1C) Brandon Mooney serves as a tubist for the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band. A native to Newville, Pennsylvania, A1C Mooney received his Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University, majoring in Music Performance and minoring in Music Production. Upon graduating, he continued his education at the University of Michigan, where he earned his Master’s degree in Music Performance. During his schooling, A1C Mooney had the privilege of studying with professional musicians including Dr. Jonathan Fowler, Hiram Diaz, Andrew Hitz, and David Zerkel.
Joining the USAF Heritage of America Band in July of 2024, A1C Mooney has performed with Heritage Brass and the Concert Band, connecting and inspiring audiences up and down the east coast. Most recently, A1C Mooney had the privilege of participating and performing for the MACH 1 brass quintet composition competition, where he collaborated to prepare and perform an original commission piece of music, composed by Carter Pann.
When he’s not performing for ensembles with the USAF Heritage of America Band, you can find A1C Mooney with the unit’s production team, where he collaborates with colleagues to capture photos, videos, and memories to share with the public.
