Technical Sergeant Jack Kurtz joined the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado, in 2023. He currently performs as a trumpeter with the Falconaires, Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, and Pegasus. In addition to his performance duties, TSgt Kurtz works in the unit’s publicity section.
TSgt Kurtz is a native of Tampa, Florida. Prior to joining the Air Force, TSgt Kurtz was studying under the guidance of Joey Tartell at Indiana University. Notable performances during his studies at IU include touring and recording with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, performing at the American Pianist Association Finals with the Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, and recording the Emmy award winning production, Wes Montgomery: A Tribute Concert.
