Technical Sgt. Evan Saddler is a percussionist with the Concert Band. Originally from Dubuque, Iowa, he joined The United States Air Force Band in 2024.
Prior to joining the Air Force, Sgt. Saddler was principal percussion with the Palm Beach Symphony. He also performed extensively with Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, Florida Grand Opera, Palm Beach Opera, New World Symphony, Savannah Philharmonic, Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, and Miami’s Nu Deco Ensemble. As a chamber musician, Sgt. Saddler has made appearances at Princeton Festival of the Arts, Madison New Music Festival, Bang on a Can Summer Festival, and Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival in South Africa. Furthermore, he led the commissioning efforts of four mixed-chamber ensemble pieces with percussion by composers including Anna Meadors, Molly Joyce, Tanner Porter, and Michael Gilbertson. As an educator, Sgt. Saddler has mentored ensembles at The Juilliard Pre-College, presented classes at New World School of the Arts and Florida Atlantic University, and served on faculty at University of Alabama in Huntsville, and University of Tennessee - Knoxville.
Sgt. Saddler is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy (Diploma), University of Michigan (Bachelor of Music), University of Miami (Artist Diploma), and The Juilliard School (Master of Music). He is grateful to his teachers, who include Gregory Zuber, Joseph Gramley, Glen Velez, Jonathan Ovalle, and Svet Stoyanov.
