Airman First Class (A1C) Yuna Langehennig serves as a flutist for the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band. A native of Lubbock, Texas and Saitama, Japan, A1C Langehennig received her Bachelor’s in Music Performance at the University of Colorado Boulder. She then began to continue her education at the University of North Texas to pursue a Master’s in Flute Performance when she won the flute position with the United States Air Force Regional bands. She has studied with Margaret Redcay, Dr. Lisa Garner-Santa, Christina Jennings, and Terri Sundberg. Prior to joining the Air Force, A1C Langehennig taught flutists K-12 privately, was named a W.M.S. Haynes Young Artist, and was featured on National Public Radio’s From the Top.
A1C Langehennig enlisted in 2023 with the USAF Heritage of America Band, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, and has performed for military and civilian audiences across the east coast. Some of her memorable performances include performing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Heritage Winds, the woodwind quintet she performs with, was also featured on National Public Radio’s From the Top as a spotlight of an alumni’s career in the Air Force.
