Technical Sergeant Aislin Carpenter

Technical Sgt. Aislin Carpenter is a trumpeter with the Ceremonial Brass. Originally from Centerville, Virginia, she joined The United States Air Force Band in 2023.

Prior to joining the Air Force, Sgt. Carpenter attended Indiana University, where she received a Bachelor of Music in 2023. During her undergraduate studies, she performed with groups such as the New World Symphony and the Fort Wayne Bach Collegium, and served as an active freelancer in the Bloomington, Indiana and Washington, D.C. areas. Carpenter’s principal teachers include John Rommel, Kris Kwapis and Dave Detwiler.

Sgt. Carpenter has received orchestral fellowships at the Music Academy of the West, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Round Top Festival Institute. In 2022, she was part of the first all-female trumpet ensemble to reach the finals of the National Trumpet Competition and was selected as a semifinal soloist that same year. An avid chamber musician, she performed regularly with the Limestone Brass, a Bloomington-based brass quintet which received a fellowship to the 2022 Aspen Music Festival and commissioned several new brass chamber works. In addition to her performing career, Sgt. Carpenter is also an active musical theater songwriter and has had her work performed at 54 Below in New York City.
