Technical Sergeant Anna Gilpatrick

Technical Sgt. Anna Gilpatrick is a French hornist with the Ceremonial Brass. Originally from State College, PA, she began her Air Force career with the Band of the Golden West at Travis Air Force Base, California in 2019, where she performed with the Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, Travis Brass, and the Golden West Winds. She joined The United States Air Force Band in 2023.

Prior to joining the Air Force, Sgt. Gilpatrick was an active freelancer during her graduate studies in Los Angeles, playing with groups such as the Modesto Symphony, the Los Angeles Sinfonietta, the Stockton Symphony, and the Debut Chamber Orchestra. She can be heard on the University of Michigan’s recording of Darius Milhaud's "L'Orestie", which was nominated for a Grammy Award for best opera recording. During her summers, she attended the Texas Music Festival and the Hot Springs Music Festival. Career highlights thus far include marching in the 2022 Tournament of Roses Parade and playing for the San Francisco 49'ers halftime show.  

Sgt. Gilpatrick received Bachelor of Music degrees in French horn performance and music education from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Music in French horn performance from the University of Southern California. Her principal teachers include Adam Unsworth, Kristy Morrell, Bryan Kennedy, and Steve Becknell.
