Technical Sergeant Robert Hartfield is tenor vocalist with the Singing Sergeants. A native of Olathe, Kansas, he joined the United States Air Force Band in 2023.
Prior to his enlistment, Sgt. Hartfield performed roles with opera companies including Opera Orlando, Pensacola Opera, Finger Lakes Opera, Cimarron Opera, and Opera Fayetteville. As a soloist, he made appearances in concert with the Abilene Philharmonic, the Treasure Coast Singers, the Norman Philharmonic, and the University of Central Florida Symphony Orchestra. Having originated roles in two world premieres, he is equally comfortable with 21st Century works, as well the traditional operatic canon, for which he has been highly acclaimed as an interpreter of the major Mozart tenor roles.
Sgt. Hartfield received a Bachelor of Music in voice performance and a Master of Music in opera from the University of Oklahoma, where he also earned the Provost Certificate of Distinction in Teaching.
