A1C Benjamin Thompson serves as a Keyboardist at the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. A1C Thompson plays all musical styles involving the keyboard and currently plays in both the jazz band and the concert band at the Band of Mid-America. He also works as an assistant VCO at the Band of Mid-America maintaining numerous vehicles and coordinating vehicle usage throughout all of the different musical performance teams throughout the Band of Mid-America.
A native of Boulder, Colorado, A1C Thompson is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano Performance in 2020. He taught High School Music for 3 years before deciding to enlist in the Air Force. A1C Thompson entered the Air Force through Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, graduating from BMT in June 2023 and was assigned to the Band of Mid-America, Scott AFB, Illinois. This is A1C Thompson’s first assignment.
