Airman First Class Benjamin Thompson is a piano player originally from Boulder, Colorado. He received a Bachelor of Music for Jazz Studies in 2020 from the University of Colorado at Boulder. During his time at CU, he studied Jazz Piano under Jeff Jenkins and Art Lande and Classical Piano under Andrew Cooperstock. A1C Thompson performed with the National Repertory Orchestra in 2018. In 2019, he created an intensive Jazz Work for Large Ensemble and gave a lecture on composition; both of which were commissioned by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program. After graduating college, A1C Thompson worked as a Collaborative Pianist at Niwot High School for 3 years. He also taught music and worked as freelance musician playing in all kinds of styles from funk to salsa.
