Airman First Class Leah Solis is a native of Houston, Texas. She studied oboe under teachers Jonathan Fischer and Robert Atherholt of the Houston Symphony, and James Ryon of the Baton Rouge Symphony. Prior to her current assignment at the Band of the West, A1C Solis taught private music lessons and worked as a freelance musician with various musical ensembles across north and southeast Texas for ten years. In her spare time, A1C Solis enjoys hiking, running, rock climbing, and reading.
