The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Technical Sergeant Isaac Sanabria

Technical Sgt. Isaac Sanabria is principal bassoonist with the Concert Band. Originally from Lakeland, Florida, he joined The United States Air Force Band in 2022.

Prior to joining the Air Force, he was selected as the first prize winner of both the National Federation of Music Clubs Double Reed competition and the Utah Music Teachers Association concerto competition. Sgt. Sanabria was also the first bassoonist to win the annual Brigham Young University Philharmonic concerto competition two years consecutively, performing Andante and Hungarian Rondo by C.M.V. Weber and Mozart's bassoon concerto.

Sgt. Sanabria began his bassoon studies at the age of nineteen as a sophomore at Brigham Young University, where he received his Bachelor of Music in bassoon performance in 2021. He also pursued graduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. His teachers include Christian Smith and Kristin Wolfe-Jensen.
