Technical Sergeant Matthew Brooker

Technical Sergeant Matthew Brooker joined the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado in 2022. He performs as a lead vocalist with the popular music group Blue Delta. TSgt Brooker was raised in Cocoa Beach, FL. He gained a love of music at an early age from his father, a former Air Force Jazz Trombonist, who was his music teacher and band director from kindergarten through 12th grade. Matt's explorations in music allowed him to perform on cello, steel pan, french horn and voice.

After graduating from Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School, TSgt Brooker studied Music Education at the University of Florida (UF) where he was under the tutelage of French Horn Professor, Paul Basler. His Carnegie Hall debut came through a performance with the UF Wind Ensemble and Brass Choir.  Matt performed for First Lady Michelle Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron during the 2012 London Olympics events and ceremonies. While at UF, his participation in No Southern Accent a cappella group continued to fuel his passion for singing.

After his studies, TSgt Brooker's musical journey led him to Atlanta, GA, which saw him climb up the local jazz and cabaret scene. After recording his first album, he began hosting his own jazz jam in the heart of the ATL. Matt quickly became a sought-after vocalist throughout the East Coast performing for military, private, and sports events, as well as public concerts, and fundraisers, all the while being mentored by his mother, a former Air Force Vocalist.  TSgt Brooker has been fortunate to perform in England, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, U.A.E, before joining the Air Force Academy Band.
