Senior Airman Eliza Terry

Senior Airman (SrA) Eliza Terry is a French horn player with the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band.  She is originally from Conway, South Carolina and is lucky to get to see her hometown every now and again touring with the USAF Heritage of America Band. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she primarily studied with Elizabeth Freimuth (principal horn of the Cincinnati Symphony), Randy Gardner (former 2nd horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra), and Denise Tryon (former 4th horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra).  She also did a semester of studies at Griffith University Conservatorium in Brisbane, Australia with Peter Luff (former associate principal horn of the Queensland Symphony).  Additionally, SrA Terry has participated in programs such as the Kendall Betts Horn Camp as a scholarship fellow and the Chatauqua Institute of Music.

Prior to joining the Air Force, SrA Terry enjoyed a varied career of freelancing, teaching, and playing 4th horn in the Long Bay Symphony as well as a short career as a missionary. Since joining, she loves playing with the band and with local civilian ensembles such as the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the Virginia Opera, the Virginia Chorus, and many other churches and small ensembles.

Throughout her career, she has had many opportunities to work with and perform with excellent people, musicians, and colleagues in all kinds of awesome places such as the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, the Ferguson Center, the College World Series, and even North Carolina ComicCon! She has soloed as a featured artist with the brass quintet, large brass ensemble, and the concert band and has toured with the brass quintet, woodwind quintet, large brass ensemble, and concert band.
