The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

Technical Sergeant Sole Doyle-Chang

Technical Sgt. Sole Doyle-Chang is a clarinetist with the Concert Band. Originally from Fremont, California, he joined The United States Air Force Band in 2022.

Prior to his appointment, Sgt. Chang served as second clarinet of the Phoenix Symphony and as substitute clarinet for the Dearborn, Stockton and San Luis Obispo symphonies. He has performed in the Eastern Music Festival, AIMS Festival, and Aspen Music Festival. Sgt. Chang was the winner of the concerto competition in 2016 at California State University, Long Beach and later performed as a soloist with the orchestra and the wind symphony.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Sergeant Chang received a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance. He also earned a Master of Music degree from California State University, Long Beach. His teachers include Daniel Gilbert, Chad Burrow, Helen Goode-Castro, and Burt Hara.
